Legislative Update
Dear Valued PNN Client,
On August 3, 2018, Governor Bruce Rauner signed HB5176 which makes a slight change in the requirements for publishing notice of a mortgage foreclosure sale in Cook County. While a notice including the legal description of the real estate continues to require publication in the legal notices section of a newspaper published in the county, the second notice, not including the legal description, is now required to be published in the real estate section of a newspaper which is published in the township in which the real estate is located. Previously, the statute required that this second notice be published in the real estate section of a newspaper published in the county in which the real estate is located.
The certificates of publication for the notices in the real estate section of the local newspapers will be updated on PublicNoticeNetwork.net to reflect this change.
PNN will continue to handle all of your sale notices and place them in the appropriate newspapers in Cook County and across the state of Illinois, but should you have any questions regarding this, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Catherine Juric Ginger Lamb
