Tech Talk - Fall 2018

by Dave Glynn, Vice President

We like to keep you updated on the latest improvements to PublicNoticeNetwork.net. So here we go:

PNN now e-files all Cook County Certificates of Publication with the Cook County Circuit Court and makes the stamped copies available in PNN. If PNN publishes your notice in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin or places your notice for sales in Cook County newspapers, the completed Certificates are e-filed with the Cook County Court. The stamped Certificates of Publication can be found on the PNN website shortly after the filings are accepted.

Thanks to an update over the summer, you can now use the filters in search results to see notices that are running in the future. From most dashboard search results, you can filter notices that are running in the next 7 days, 14 days and 28 days.

For sale notices in Cook County, when you click to view them from the dashboard the status will reflect both the common and the legal notice. If both common and legal certificates are available, the status will say “CERTIFIED” and you’ll know that they are complete. For all sales, we have now a mechanism in place for our staff to see seven days prior to when sales are approaching to make sure that all the tear sheets and certificates are available online for you in time for the sale.

We also offer “Sale Notices Assigned Pub Dates - Last 14 Days” and “Service Notices Assigned Pub Dates - Last 14 Days” on the Dashboard so you have quick access to the latest notices assigned to publications. For a service notice, you’ll be able to upload an Affidavit of Service for a notice in either PDF or MS Word formats.

Tip: When searching for a case number in the top level search in the right corner of the webpage – use the unique portion of the case number to locate it. If the case number is 2017CH5568, search for “5568” to find it quickly. It will save you time and the aggravation of entering the entire case number.

For our newspaper partners, we are pleased to welcome the Cook County Suburban Publishers and Accredited Chicago Publishers to the new system! We like to keep everyone updated on the latest improvements to PublicNoticeNetwork.net.
